Connective Tissue

(iN Progress)

We live in the age of imagery. We consume thousands of images each day without much consideration as we scroll through our phones or computers or the television screen. We are also creating more photographs than any other time in history. In addition to the plethora of visual stimulus on a daily basis, we live with internal photographs from our growing up and life experiences, memories recorded that are unique to each of us. It is this overwhelming stew of visual consumption that defines of who we are.

The series, Connective Tissue, is a collage of imagery, some captured on film, some through scanning, that includes contemporary capture, personal vernacular family photos, and found imagery. As an artist, I am interested in disrupting the traditional ways of looking at photographs to create new narratives and ways of seeing.
